BLOK Birthday 2023

BLOK returned to New Jackson to mark the 4th Birthday of its Manchester studio with a free outdoor fitness morning. Under the expert guidance of BLOK’s head trainers Tomas and Leo, a community of over 230 individuals gathered in The Square at Deansgate Square for a collective strength and yoga session. Truly a connection of mind, body and soul, the event epitomised the power of coming together in the pursuit of wellness and celebrated the vibrant community that has grown around New Jackson.

Live from the Grill 2023

New Jackson came alive this month as Live from The Grill returned for a sizzling medley of mouthwatering food and electrifying music. Hosted by Manchester’s Finest and powered by Renaker, this free food and music extravaganza welcomed a vibrant crowd of over 5,000 people to Deansgate Square across a glorious weekend.

A diverse menu of mouthwatering dishes awaited guests, courtesy of Food Sorcery, Salvi’s, Elnecot and Knights BBQ, while Gooey’s ice cream cart provided the ultimate post-bbq indulgence. Salvi’s spritz bar proved to be a returning favourite from last year’s event and beer enthusiasts were treated to the first taste of Manchester’s Finest brand new light lager. The weekend’s soundtrack created a vibrant atmosphere that filled The Square, beginning with Saturday’s Habitat takeover and culminating in Sunday’s programme of live performances curated by GigPig.

Live from the grill 2022

Accompanied by DJs and live bands, this free event was in partnership with MCR Finest and attracted 4,300 people across the weekend. BBQ grills were served by local operators: Salvi’s, Kitten, The Green Lab, as well as That Burger Place, with each serving up some mouthwatering delights and their own take on BBQ food. This event is part of a series of Live From the Grill events.

BLOK Birthday 2022

BLOK Manchester, a class-based boutique studio located in the heart of the Northern Quarter celebrated its 3rd birthday. To mark the occasion, they hosted a free outdoor fitness afternoon in the Square at Deansgate Square. Sessions included yoga and strength, both of which were led by BLOK’s head trainers. Over 200 people attended including both the public and residents and were treated to complimentary refreshments, as well as goodie bags.

Jubilee

Our residents love a social, and over the Jubilee weekend, we threw a little rooftop garden party to honour her Majesty – there was music, dancing and plenty of sun!

It was the perfect way for residents to get to know their neighbours and just one of the many social events at Deansgate Square that make up our carefully curated social calendar.

Sound Bath

Residents at Deansgate Square were treated to a fabulous event one Saturday afternoon in July 2022, as Nigel Meadows took them on a Sound Bath Journey on the rooftop garden – and once everyone was thoroughly refreshed and relaxed, they enjoyed a healthy and nutritious brunch at The Green Lab.

Charity Basketball Match

In aid of Cancer Research UK, our wonderful residents held a charity basketball tournament in our full-sized sports hall, which featured special guests from Manchester Giants basketball team, entertainment from talented hip-hop dance crews, Fierce Fraternity and The ASH Company, a live DJ, a three-point contest and a prize raffle draw. The event was a huge success and overall, our residents managed to raise over £1,200 for a great cause.
